Austin meets with industry stakeholders and conducts research to inform policy initiatives at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the government agency created as part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. Prior to joining the CFPB, Austin served as an economic development volunteer in the Peace Corps, where he worked with small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. Prior to that, Austin was an analyst at Cornerstone Research, an economic consulting firm, primarily focused on financial services. Austin is a graduate of Georgetown University.
