Exciting Changes Coming for CardCon @ FinCon 2018

If you were at CardCon @ FinCon 2017 in Dallas, then you know that the inaugural event was a resounding success. From Brian Kelly’s opening keynote to the spectacular evening event hosted by Barclaycard, attendees were thrilled to hear from experts in the field and have the opportunity to network with each other.

In response to the feedback from this year’s event, here are some of the changes coming to CardCon @ FinCon 2018 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando Florida:

  • Longer format. In 2017, we squeezed a lot into one day. But in 2018, CardCon becomes a day and a half event. It will begin on Tuesday, September 25 and last until noon on Wednesday the 26th. This will give us all 50% more time for networking and presentations, while avoiding any conflicts with FinCon events.
  • More interactive. In 2018 we’re moving away from the formal tables with microphones on them and putting out some comfy chairs to encourage the speakers and moderators to relax and tell us what’s really on their mind. As a result, you can expect the presentations to be less like C-SPAN and more like The Tonight Show. Furthermore, presenters will make themselves available to attendees in a speaker lounge immediately afterwards. Finally, we’ll be introducing some smaller, round-table discussions to address more topics while allowing attendees to directly interact presenters.
  • Additional networking opportunities. With so many journalists, industry executives and affiliate networks present, we want to give attendees every opportunity to make valuable connections. This will include dedicated hours for the expo hall, as well as organized networking events.
  • New pricing structure. As CardCon grows in size and length, it would be easy to justify a substantial increase in admission prices. Instead, we’ll be keeping the prices low for self-employed members of the media and other attendees, while offering corporate rate that includes a table at the organized networking events. The early-bird rate for self-employed attendees is currently just $129, while those attending on behalf of their employer will be $199. And as with FinCon and other conferences, the rates will rise somewhat as the event approaches, so you can lock in the best prices now.

If credit and credit cards are your business, then you need to join us for CardCon @ FinCon 2018 on September 25th and 26th in sunny Orlando Florida.

These changes are just the beginning! In the next few months, look for more exciting announcements of speakers, sponsors and events for next year’s CardCon.
